If it had funds, LOLA would be a great buyer. It's a credible manufacturer in its own right, would probably like to make amends for its failed attempt at F1, and most of all IT HAS A HISTORY WITH HONDA! Of course, it would take some major sponsorship, maybe from BP. English team, English driver, English sponsor.

Porsche my backside. Last time they had a look (think they gave a prototype engine to Arrows for a trial), they were incredulous when told that their engine was 100BHP down and 100kg overweight on contemporary powerplants! You just have to look at their flagship 911 to see - it's bloody 50 years old, and the Boxster/Cayman is only a smaller version! They don't like investing much in new technology when they've got away with selling cars that have been tweaked since WWII...

triumphken IF Dave Richards gets it it won't be Aston Martin it'll most likely be ProDrive, as they were supposed to be in the 2008 championship but had no choice but to pull out because a couple of teams were bitching about the use of customer cars.

Given McLarens involvement in the back-of-the-field Force India, it would seem most likely that Ferrari fund this back-of-the-field team with Brawn at the helm. Might even stick Micky Schumacher in place of Rubens for good measure. Certainly more plausible than the Porsche rumour, anyway... ;)

dave richards & honda deserve each other. may they sink in a cloud of smoke, so i hope he gets lumbered with it. its overpriced at any price but someone will fall for it. only the british would be silly enough to see the honda team as a bargain.

they may save it but as a low budget team they have no chance of winning in the forseeable future, meaning that buttons' career is effectively over, with just one win. rem the crap spoken when he had that win, that now he has the taste for it other wins will surely follow-well they didn't

They had all year to build a car! This is Ross Brawns moment.

I agree with ScottC, Dave Richards must surely be one of the interested buyers, he wants to be in F1, he has the connections and resources to make it work and lets face it , after he finished his contract at BAR the team went steadily downhill despite Honda's enormous financial input, I predict we will see the Aston Martin name racing soon!

Formula one is presently not very profitable, the only people I can see wanting what's left of the Honda team would be one of the bigger teams looking for a reserve team and gaining new KERS technology.

Shame, but at least with Ross Brawn as Team Pricipal they have a chance at attracting a buyer. Thats about the only inducement I can see, especially as the car wasnt up to much..

I agree with ScottC, look at what Dave Richards did when he was in charge - BAR began to take off and at that time were probably as sucessful as they have ever been. It has been a slow decent ever since he parted from the team; they are now at rock bottom. BAR and Honda have made some bad Management choices and are now paying for it.

Is Aguri Suzuki thinking of Nick Fry, "What goes around comes around"!

I agree, this is ripe for Dave Richards to get into the game properly. Honda have alledgedly been developing their 2009 car for most of the past 9 months so they should be ready to go. And Brackley isn't far from prodrive hq or Richards home so it makes perfect sense. Watch this space.....

good bye, i don't believe, they would find strong owner. they will probably end like force india. they already very well know last places on grid, now comes the constant change of weak owners. their solution could be to become b-team of some strong team, but which?

Although a sad news, mr. Nick Fry is now tasting what Aguri Suzuki felt when he voiced his desire to see the plug pulled on Super Aguri.

I think it would be a great idea if Pro Drive took an interest, the 2009 car must be almost fully developed so Dave Richards can walk in there and take over. It would be great to see Dave Richards and Jenson together again, lets face it Dave Richards knows his way around the factory!

Good luck Nick and Ross ... be so satisfying to do it without Honda? I think this relects badly on the Honda brand. Audi or Porsche would be too good to hope for???? I guess they would start on their own. Porsche and VW certainly have the cash?
