Button excited by return to USA

Jenson Button has revealed he is eagerly anticipating Formula One's return to the United States later this year.

After a four-year absence, F1 will return to the USA this year, with Austin set to hold the US GP in November at the newly constructed Circuit of the Americas.

The race has been thrown into doubt a number of times and construction was halted late last year. However, an agreement between organisers and F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone was reached and in mid-December work got back underway.

By all accounts the circuit will be completed well before the race, with organisers eyeing an August finish.

With anticipation building, Button admits he's excited about the prospect of tackling what - at least on paper - looks an intriguing track.

"I'm really excited about heading back to the States," said the Briton.

"I've never been to Austin, but I've heard great things about the city itself, and I've also heard great things about the circuit and the layout.

"I remember racing in the States before in Indianapolis, which was a good circuit, but, with the steps that Austin has taken to make sure this is a proper F1 circuit, I think we're going to love it. It's going to be a lot of fun. Hopefully we have the support of the American fans, and hopefully we can put on a great show when we get there."
