Nelson Piquet Jr, Pedro de la Rosa and Bruno Senna are on the Campos Grand Prix shortlist for next year.
Brazilian Piquet's F1 future has been in doubt ever since his acrimonious departure from Renault and the Singapore crashgate scandal.
However, it appears he may get a second chance as Spanish outfit Campos have confirmed that they have held talks with him.
Team owner Adrian Campos told news agency EFE: "I spoke with Nelsinho Piquet in Nice three weeks ago and it's still a possibility.
"We also have Pedro as an option, but we need to reach an agreement and the issue is dragging on. Hopefully, though, he will be one of our drivers. He would like to stay on at McLaren as test driver but we're not closing the door."
F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone has also recently given his support to Piquet.
"I would like to see him on the grid again," he told EFE. "He is a talented boy who has gone through a difficult period. If I can help it, I will. I am friend of them (father and son). I saw Nelsinho as a baby and I am like his godfather."

"To everyone who has stated that no sponsor will touch Campos with Piquet Jr on board, well the sponsor would obviously be Piquet Sr - they probably won't need anyone else.
And to Watchcam, you mentioned "bad feeling towards McLaren over spygate", but McLaren made it through that and are now back to being a well respected team on the grid, even after their further sins in Australia this year.
Finally, to everyone who has expressed so much "hatred" for Piquet, seriously, watch your ulcers."

"Campos will need to build their cars very strong if they take on Piquet because he also tended to crash a lot even when it wasn't planned!"

"the matterhas now been dealt with over crashgate,so let's et over it and move on. maybe he sholud have got a ban,but he didn't,end of matter. i would love to see piquet back in a fresh environment, without flav's pressure and corrupt behaviour, and without one of the best drivers of recent years as his team mate to judge him against. he was superb in every other formula, and if he does well it will just prove how off track pressure can affect a drivers performance, and on that basis it would be quite satisfying if he came back and performed well."

"i'm sure alonso will be shaking in his boots when he hears this news. most other drivers need not turn up"
