Kazuki Nakajima emerged unscathed from his high-speed accident during Friday's test session at Barcelona.
The Williams driver, who was behind the wheel of the team's new FW30, reportedly lost control at the first corner of the track, going straight off and into the barrier.
As the gravel trap did little to slow him down, the impact was huge and did considerable damage to the front of his FW30.
The Japanese driver, though, suffered no injuries and was able to climb unaided from his wrecked car, which was taken back to the pits on a flatbed truck.
The session was stopped for 20 minutes as a result of the accident.
