Williams director Patrick Head says he is impressed by Nico Rosberg's attitude and expects more big things from the German in 2008.
Rosberg was heavily linked with McLaren a few months ago, but instead penned a two-year extension to his contract with the Grove-based team.
Head hopes the 22-year-old, who will team up with Japan's Kauki Nakajima this season, will be rewarded for his loyalty.
"He was the best driver for us in 2007 and got good results for us, it was always obvious to us we could not let him go," Head told German agency SID.
"Nico does not think: 'I am the best and I will always be good'. He is constantly looking to improve.
"We always knew Nico was fast, but he is constantly performing well on all levels.
"Nico is a philosopher, he has decided to become a successful driver, just as we have decided to become a successful team, we are striving to improve our engine."
